PROJECT UPDATE:

Help Shape the Future of Auburn Abroad in Italy

Thanks to the generosity of Auburn alumni, families, and friends, Phase I improvements are already enhancing the student experience inside the historic Chigi Palace in Ariccia, Italy.

These renovations are helping us welcome more students, improve daily life and learning spaces, and preserve this extraordinary global classroom for future generations.

What Your Support Has Already Made Possible

  • Increased student capacity from 22 to 24 students with the addition of two new student nests
  • Installed custom sound mitigation panels created through a collaborative Auburn Interior Design research project
  • Created dedicated office space for Auburn’s Italy team
  • Added a private student phone booth for Zoom calls, interviews, and advising meetings
  • Improved ventilation throughout residential areas
  • Updated security and fire safety systems

Looking Ahead to Phase II

  • Expanded studio and collaboration space
  • A tasting kitchen for immersive cultural learning
  • Additional student study areas
  • Meeting and gathering spaces
  • Outdoor green space enhancements

Together, these improvements will help more Auburn students experience the personal growth, cultural immersion, and global perspective that make Auburn Abroad in Italy transformative.

Every improvement inside Chigi Palace creates new opportunities for Auburn students to live, learn, and grow as global citizens. Whether you studied abroad in Italy yourself, supported a student’s journey, or simply believe in the power of global education, we invite you to be part of what comes next.

YOUR SUPPORT OPENS THE DOORS OF CHIGI PALACE TO FUTURE AUBURN STUDENTS WHOSE LIVES WILL BE FOREVER CHANGED THROUGH IMMERSIVE GLOBAL EDUCATION.

For two decades, the Joseph S. Bruno Auburn Abroad program has been a beacon of transformative education, offering Auburn University students an immersive experience in Italian culture at the historic Chigi Palace in Ariccia, Italy. The program has been instrumental in shaping the global perspectives of over 1,000 students, but its impact is constrained by limited accommodations.

With your support, we aim to expand and enrich this life-changing program, ensuring more students can benefit from its profound educational opportunity. Join today and help shape the future of Auburn Abroad in Italy!
